Lincsus hosted our Spring Strategic Networking & Insights event in April 2026, bringing together Lincsus C‑Suite, Strategic and Associate Partners alongside senior business leaders from across Scotland and the wider UK.

The Lincsus Strategic Networking & Insights series is designed for business owners, CEOs, Chairs and senior decision‑makers seeking practical insight, experienced perspective and meaningful peer connection. This business leadership event, held once again at Rathbones Edinburgh, focused on how leaders can navigate uncertainty with greater clarity, confidence and purpose.

Addressing today’s leadership realities

The afternoon programme centred on a question many leaders are asking: how do you continue to make confident decisions amid economic uncertainty, geopolitical change and rapid technological advancement?

Opening the event, Simon Dewar, Senior Investment Director, and Kindar Brown, Senior Financial Planner at Rathbones, explored the theme Clarity Creates Confidence. Their session highlighted key financial and investment planning priorities for business owners, particularly in the context of rising costs, changing tax rules and economic uncertainty. The discussion demonstrated how joined‑up planning helps protect personal wealth while supporting resilient, successful businesses — a core element of effective funding and investment advisory support.

Euan McLeod of Benson Accountants followed with an insight‑led session on the real value a high‑quality accountancy firm brings beyond compliance. He highlighted how trusted financial partners enhance accuracy, governance and strategic understanding, enabling business owners to make better, more informed decisions.

Experience as a strategic advantage in a rapidly changing market

A central element of the afternoon was a Lincsus C‑Suite Partner panel, led by Catherine Bell and joined by Judith O’Leary, Sanjay Mistry and Ian Laird. Drawing on extensive cross‑sector leadership experience, the panel explored how experienced executives interpret rapid change and shape strategy amid geopolitical, technological and market volatility.

The discussion reinforced why experience remains a critical asset in uncertain environments and why many organisations are turning to fractional and advisory C‑Suite services. Access to experienced leaders on a flexible basis enables businesses to challenge assumptions, assess risk effectively and maintain perspective without the commitment of a full‑time executive hire.

Turning insight into action with AI

The afternoon concluded with Ed Vickers of Loop Agencies, who addressed one of the most pressing leadership questions today: how can AI be used practically in business right now?

In his session, From Hype to Hands On – Why waiting isn’t an option, Ed demonstrated how organisations are already using AI to work smarter, move faster and spend less. His message was clear — the organisations pulling ahead are not waiting for perfect conditions. They are acting now, using AI as a practical tool to drive efficiency, improve decision‑making and create competitive advantage.

Key insights from the event

Across the sessions and discussions, several consistent themes emerged:

  • Clear and consistent communication builds trust and alignment in times of uncertainty

  • Confidence comes from clarity and informed conversations, not delayed decisions

  • Experience remains a critical advantage when assessing risk and setting priorities

  • Trusted advisors add the most value when they challenge thinking and broaden perspective

  • Insight — including AI — only delivers impact when translated into decisive action

Strategic networking for senior leaders

The formal programme concluded with informal networking over drinks, allowing attendees to extend conversations, share experience and build trusted relationships with peers facing similar leadership challenges. The session reinforced the value of strategic networking events for senior business leaders, where insight is shared openly and collaboration develops naturally.
